As is typical for animated movies these days, DreamWorks’ B.O.O.: Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations has been through several versions on its way to the screen. Once called** Boo U**, the film already has Seth Rogen and Melissa McCarthy on board to lend their voices, and Rashida Jones and Matt Bomer are new recruits.

With a plot that sounds spookily similar to recent live-action adventure comedy R.I.P.D., the new ‘toon follows operatives from the eponymous Bureau, which handles ghost activity in the world and keeps humanity safe from evil hauntings. Their job becomes trickier when the Most Wanted Haunter plots to destroy the agency. Rogen will be Jackson Moss, who partners with McCarthy’s Watts to fight the evil plan.

Jones is set to voice Moss’ ex-wife, while Bomer will be her new husband, an annoyingly perfect stepfather to his son. Anthony Leonidis is directing, working from a script by Tom Wheeler. The movie is set for release (across the pond, at least) in June 2015.

Bomer has Winter’s Tale coming up and will be part of Ryan Murphy’s The Normal Heart. Jones is a regular on sitcom Parks & Recreation (at least until she leaves later this year – sob!) and will be seen in Cuban Fury alongside Nick Frost. The film lands on January 10.
