Insert standard “she’s so hot right now you could fry an egg on her forehead” gag here: fresh from her whistle-stop tour of meetings with directors, actors, producers and studios, The Girl with the Sought-After Acting Talents, Noomi Rapace, has won yet another role, and is now attached to The Last Voyage of Demeter.

According to the LA Times, she’s up for a main role in the film, which chronicles the ill-fated final journey of the ship carrying Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to England. In Bram Stoker’s original story, the Russian vessel washes up at Whitby with its crew missing, presumed dead, and only one actual corpse aboard (besides the undead passenger): that of the captain, lashed to the helm. The ship’s log recounts strange events aboard that lead to most of the crew abandoning her.

Rapace is apparently playing a stowaway, with Ben Kingsley reportedly also ready to jump aboard the movie, and a lead actor in the process of being cast by director Stefan Ruzowitzky.

Yes, even if she loses the lead in Ridley Scott’s first Alien prequel to Natalie Portman and doesn't end up joining Dragon Tattoo co-star Michael Nyqvist in the latest Mission: Impossible outing, it looks like she’ll be busy enough between Sherlock Holmes 2 and this, assuming she signs on…
