Back in March, we reported that Denzel Washington had locked down a new film role, agreeing to star in crime thriller Little Things. Now comes word that newly minted Oscar winner Rami Malek is in talks to join him.
Writer/director John Lee Hancock wrote the script and is also on to direct. The story follows a burned-out Kern County deputy sheriff named Deke (Washington), who teams with a crack LASD detective, Baxter (Malek, assuming he makes a deal), to reel in a wily serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past...
Hancock has scheduled an early September shoot for this one, and he'd probably have had to wait for Malek anyway, since the actor is currently busy causing trouble for Daniel Craig's 007 on the set of the as-yet-untitled 25th Bond movie.
