Last week it emerged that the next Rambo film is already shooting, with Sylvester Stallone quite literally saddling up to play John Rambo one last time – in the film’s first-look pic, Rambo has swapped his green beret for a stetson, donning a cowboy look. It really does sound like it’ll be one last ride for the action hero, because according to The Hollywood Reporter{=nofollow} the next instalment is titled Rambo 5: Last Blood – offering some pleasing symmetry to the original entry, First Blood.

The film has added Paz Vega to the cast – she’ll play Carmen Delgado, a reporter covering the drug trade in Mexico. When a cartel kidnaps her daughter, she enlists John Rambo on a rescue mission. With its ageing hero, border-crossing plot, and story about the final mission of a long-standing warrior, it sounds like we’re in for a Logan-esque take on Rambo.

Rambo 5: Last Blood is shooting now, with Adrian Grunberg on directing duties. The script is co-written by Stallone and Matt Cirulnick. There’s no official release date as of yet, but expect it to hit cinemas some time in 2019.
