With The Raid's Iko Uwais in the lead, you can be assured that Headshot is not about some young LA wannabe actor on a mission to get the perfect photograph that will launch his career while indie music warbles in the background. Nope: there will be blood.
Directed by Kimo Stamboel and Timo Tjahjanto (and written by the latter), Headshot finds Uwais as Ismail, who wakes up from an injury with chunks of his memory missing. He's nursed back to health by a young woman who he falls for, but that burgeoning relationship is shoved into jeopardy by the discovery that he's A) a trained killer and B) has to battle some nasty drug henchmen.
And if you were in any way feeling withdrawal symptoms from a lack of Gareth Evans making the third of his punishing, creative action outings, this might go some way to helping ease them. Headshot will be out in the UK and the States on 3 March.
