Rachel Weisz, has from time to time in her career, taken roles in science fiction. She's adding to that roster with a new role, agreeing to star in a film called Cloud One.
Not much is known about the plot for this one, with Variety only digging up the description of the film as a "grounded" sci-fi story, which hails from Wristcutters: A Love Story director Goran Dukic, who will make the movie from his script.
Based on that title, what can we expect? A Black Mirror-style thriller about cloud computing going horribly wrong? Or even the story of the residents of Cloud City's wealthiest neighbourhood complaining about the smell from the gas mining vents? Probably not that one since A) it doesn't sound much like a "grounded" story and B) Disney and Lucasfilm would sue all involved into the Stone Age.
Cloud One is scheduled to kick off filming this spring, but Weisz will be on our screens before it arrives in sailing drama The Mercy (due 9 February) and her reunion with The Lobster's Yorgos Lanthimos for The Favourite.
