Given that Chilean director Sebastián Lelio's English-language debut Disobedience already has Rachel Weisz aboard to produce and star and has now added Rachel McAdams alongside her, should Rachel Griffiths be checking her phone? Possibly, though for now McAdams is the only confirmed new hire.

The film will adapt Naomi Alderman’s tome follows Ronit, the estranged daughter of a rabbi, who heads home to the Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood she grew up in London when her father dies. Her arrival stirs up the local community.

Lelio will have the cameras rolling this winter in London and has already adapted the script alongside Ida co-writer Rebecca Lenkiewicz. Film4 is providing the backing to get this one made.

McAdams is back on our screens this month in Doctor Strange, which arrives on the 25th. Weisz' next job to show up is in The Light Between Oceans, due on 4 November.
