We first learned that Love Actually’sRichard Curtis was itching to get back to directing this January, when it was announced that he would make time travel romantic comedy About Time this summer. Now the cast is coming into focus, with Rachel McAdams snagging the female lead.
Domhnall Gleeson (son of Brendan) is set to co-star as a guy who discovers he has the ability to travel back in time. But his talent may end up causing more trouble than it’s worth when he meets the woman of his dreams (McAdams, not entirely unexpectedly). You might think she'd have had enough with time-shifting suitors after her experiences on The Time-Traveller's Wife, but some habits are hard to break, we guess.
While Zooey Deschanel had originally been attached as the leading lady, McAdams is now in negotiations to join a cast that also includes Bill Nighy, Tom Hollander, Lydia Wilson and Vanessa Kirby.
About Time is scheduled to get shooting next month in London. After that, McAdams will work on **A ****Most Wanted Man **for Anton Corbijn, which is tentatively scheduled for September. The actress will next be seen in Terrence Malick’s still-untitled drama and Brian De Palma’s Passion.
