We learned back in December that Daredevil spin-off The Punisher would return for a second season. And now we know at least a few of the names who will be joining Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle in the series' new run of episodes, as Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima and Giorgia Whigham have all been added to the cast.

The story for Season 2 has yet to be revealed, though you know it'll feature Frank dishing out more violent vengeance. Stewart will be John Pilgrim, a man whose calm exterior belies a ruthless heart. Like Frank, he's tried to leave a life of violence behind, circumstances will force him to use his old skills, and he'll be drawn into Frank's world. Lima is on to play Krista Dumont, a smart, compassionate psychotherapist who works with veterans, while Whigham has nabbed the role of Amy Bendix, a street-smart grifter with a mysterious past. of the three, she's the one who crops up in the Marvel Comics database as debuting in an issue of Punisher: War Zone, but there's little information that might offer a clue to what she'll be doing.

"We are incredibly excited to have Josh, Floriana and Giorgia joining the cast of Marvel’s The Punisher and seeing them bring their talents to the next chapter in the Frank Castle story," says showrunner Steve Lightfoot as part of the announcement. They join a returning cast that includes Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, and Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle.

The Punisher's first season is on Netflix, and the streaming service has yet to announce a debut date for Season 2.
