A number of major studios have been forced to rethink their plans for impending releases after the horrific terrorist attacks in the US yesterday (12 September). Warner Bros' Schwarzenegger thriller Collateral Damage is currently in a state of limbo while execs decide what is to become of the picture, which begins with a terrorist explosion in a downtown skyscraper. A similar hold has been put on Barry Sonnenfeld comedy Big Trouble. Starring Rene Russo and Tim Allen, the film was scheduled for a 21 September release in the US but, due to sensitive elements including a bomb on a plane, the film has been pushed back. Sonnenfeld's latest project Men in Black 2, which was shooting in New York, has had production stopped, as has animated adventure Ice Age, which was also in production in the city. It is unclear when work will resume. The teaser trailer for Spider-Man has also been removed from the film's official website as it features a helicopter sequence shot between the twin towers of the World Trade Centre. All of Hollywood's studios and talent agencies closed their doors yesterday after news of the unprecedented attacks, which has seen the loss of more than 5,000 lives.
