Now that it finally has the right elements (including a star in Chris Pratt) to actually hit screens, comicbook adaptation Cowboy Ninja Viking is going full steam ahead and is now adding Priyanka Chopra to its cast list.
Created by writer A. J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, Cowboy Ninja Viking will draw from the Image Comics series about secret counter-intelligence agents with multiple personality disorders. Various suitable candidates for the 'Triplet' programme were brought together by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain, but when the project collapsed, the subjects went their own ways as hired assassins.
Pratt's Duncan has the three personality types that have been corralled in his mind for maximum effectiveness – a cowboy, a ninja and a viking. The script for this one has been through several hands, including Deadpool duo Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and Craig Mazin, with Dan Mazeau and Ryan Engle the most recent writers.
Chopra's character has yet to be revealed, but if her deal goes through, she'll be Pratt's co-star. Michelle MacLaren is aboard to direct, with Universal aiming to have this one in cinemas by 28 June next year.
