The biopic of acclaimed, late war reporter Marie Colvin, A Private War rolled its cameras a few months ago and is now about to arrive on the film festival circuit. An initial trailer for the film, which stars Rosamund Pike as Colvin, is online.

Cartel Land's Matthew Heineman is on directorial duty here, with Arash Amel adapting Marie Brenner's 2012 Vanity Fair article Marie Colvin's Private War. It chronicles the work of the journalist, who filed reports from conflict zones including Chechnya, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, where she lost her left eye in 2001. She became known for her distinctive patch, and kept working, dying during a rocket attack in 2012 while covering the civil war in Syria.

Stanley Tucci, Jamie Dornan and Tom Hollander are among the cast for this one, set for limited launch in the States on 2 November before a wider platform release on 16 November. We've yet to learn of a UK date.
