Prisoners Trailer Online

Of the films we saw teased at CinemaCon back in April, one that definitely stuck – for a good reason – was the short footage reel from Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners. Now the trailer is online over at Apple for you all to experience a little of the drama.

Prisoners, taken from Aaron Guzikowski’s much-lauded script, finds Hugh Jackman as small-town family man Keller Dover. He’s happy to spend time with wife Grace and daughter Anna and hang out with friends including Terrence Howard and Viola Davis.

Then a situation that any parent dreads strikes: the couples’ daughters go missing from their sleepy neighbourhood and soon the hunt is on to find them. Detective Loki (played by Jake Gyllenhaal and not Tom Hiddleston as you might expect) shows up and promptly arrests the suspicious-seeming Paul Dano. But when the cops fail to find enough evidence to keep Dano in custody, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself. When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

This one promises plenty of intensity from Jackman, Gyllenhaal and Howard in particular. Prisoners is out on September 20 in the US and October 4 over here.
