Just in case you thought that the fairytale was long gone, Disney will prove it ain't so with the trailer for their new 2D musical romance **The Princess And The Frog. The preview will hit the big screen this week attached to Up, **which is set to open the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
The new Princess, Southern belle Tiana (voiced by Dreamgirls' Anika Noni Rose) lives in 1920s New Orleans at the height of the legendary French Quarter's elegance and grandeur. When a mouthy frog (Bruno Campos) claims to be a Prince cursed by witch doctors, a magical Mississippi adventure unfolds for the pair involving love, voodoo enchantment and crooning crocodiles. What's not to love?
Co-starring Oprah Winfrey, John Goodman, Terrence Howard, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, Michael-Leon Wooley, Peter Bartlett and prolific voice artist Jim Cummings, the film is directed and written by the award-winning Disney duo behind The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, John Musker and Ron Clements.
The Princess And The Frog will bounce into US cinemas in late November, but will take a while to swim to our shores, with a release of February 12 2010 set for the UK.
