Disney's return to traditional 2D fairytale animation, The Princess and The Frog doesn't hit British shores until next February. But to whet your appetite in the meantime, here's a featurette on the main villain, Keith David's Doctor Facilier, courtesy of Cartoon Brew.
The short promo piece features Bruce Smith, the supervising animator for Facilier, describing capturing Keith David's studio performance; a quick glimpse of directors John Musker and Ron Clements; and, happily, quite a lot of John Carpenter favourite David himself. David describes voodoo magicman Facilier as "a schemer, a conjuror, and a sorcerer of sorts. He's a delicious bad guy, on that roster of wonderful Disney villains." A quick burst of song reveals that Facilier has "friends on the other side".
Lots of glimpses of the flamboyant Baron Samedi-like Facilier, obviously, and there are also some gorgeous shots of the film's 1920s New Orleans setting.
Disney's villains are always the best part of the film. Discuss.
