We’ve already been treated to a glimpse of what Elizabeth Banks will look like in the upcoming Power Rangers reboot. Now, we’ve been treated to a slightly, erm, less clear look at her character, Rita Repulsa.
Is she just outside someone’s nan’s house? Or – more likely – is she trapped in the 10,000 year space dumpster prison, from which she escaped during the start of the 1990s TV series Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, as we all remember?
Time will tell. Banks leads up a cast that includes Bryan Cranston plus five relative newcomers (RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Naomi Scott and Dacre Montgomery) as the eponymous Rangers.
Filming is well underway on the project, which is the third big-screen outing for the perenially popular children's sci-fi franchise.
Project Almanac's Dean Israelite is directing this one. We'll find out whether Rita Repulsa manages to defeat her frosted-glass foe on March 24, 2017, when Power Rangers is released.
