In the early Godzilla movies, The King Of The Monsters was just a guy in a suit, but the advent of modern SFX means that men stomping on miniature cities are no longer required. But if they were, Gareth Edwards would be the megaphone weilder shouting "Punch the water tower!" and "Drop-kick that battleship!", because he's the director behind this week's reboot of Toho's beloved scaley scoundrel. He's joined in the Empire Podcast this week by The Two Faces Of January's Viggo Mortensen (star) and Hossein Amini (director), who talk about everything from The Parthenon to Montesquieu.

Elsewhere, the team talk about the reactions to the new Batman suit and Batmobile, come to terms (yet again) with the **P****oint Break **remake and evaluate who has the sultriest voice in cinema. Hint: it's not Charlie Day.
