Brad Pitt has been lined up for talks with Columbia on the starring role in an adaptation of Michael Lewis’ non-fiction bestseller: "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game."

Steve Zaillian (**American Gangster, Gangs of **New York) has been brought in to write the screenplay about a baseball club general manager who invents a way of using computer based analysis to draft players on the cheap. And David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me) has signed up to direct.
