Though you might think that the recession might have forced the next Pirates Of The Caribbean entry (On Stranger Tides, for those who don't follow title announcements) to shoot in producer Jerry Bruckheimer's pool, the massive cash earned by the franchise to date means the cast, crew and new director Rob Marshall are headed to Hawaii.

Tides will kick off its shoot this summer on Oahu and Kauai with the aim of meeting its summer 2011 release date. The lucky islands are set to see around $85 million in spending from the film, most of that from the eyepatch and parrot budget.

Little else has been released about the plot as yet, though we do know it will partially be based on Tim Powers' similarly titled novel, and should see Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow and Geoffrey Rush's Barbossa searching for a mystical fountain of youth.

We'd suggest that Depp will get the chance to top up his tan, but he already has a private island for that.
