Those pesky, carnivorous fish are back. Dimension pictures has officially announced that it will remake Piranha, the 1978 cult horror.

Chuck Russell – last seen calling the shots on The Scorpion King – will direct the remake, which is set off Arizona’s Lake Havasu, a holiday hotspot that becomes a bloodbath when a group of the hungry fin fiends take up residence.

Russell wrote the script, based on drafts by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger, as well as the original John Sayles script that Joe Dante directed the first time around.
