Are you suffering from the headaches, nausea and mild depression that can result from a lack of teen rom-coms in your life? Well, worry no more: producers David Permut, Dave Gross and Jesse Shapira are set to bring Pictures of You to the screen, from the script by Joshua Friedlander.
The story follows a boy who finds a camera on the beach of a Florida resort town. He develops the film inside, and sees the girl of his dreams in the resulting photos. Cue a quest to find her despite the fact that she could easily turn out to be stupid, mean or simply not that good a match for our hero.
The script topped the 2007 Black List of unproduced screenplays (and boy is the Black List getting some deals made today), but in the meantime Friedlander's sold another script, One Night Stan, to Lionsgate and is working on Camp Morningwood for McG and something called The Art of Cool. Sounds like he's the new go-to guy for blokey movies, although without seeing the script it's hard to say how blokey they get.
