Peter Segal May Join Neighborhood Watch

Earlier this year, Fox suffered a blow to its plans to make weird comedy Neighborhood Watch when director David Dobkin and star Will Ferrell unexpectedly dropped out.

Now, however, the studio might just have a back-up plan, at least for behind the camera, and it's thanks to the Get Smart sequel being shoved back by Warners.

That means Peter Segal is likely abatable to take over the reins on Watch, which finds a city dweller moving to the suburbs and joining the local neighbourhood watch program, only to discover a massive and (minor spoiler) vaguely supernatural conspiracy.

But even if Segal does agree to work on Jared Stern's script, Fox will still need to find a star. Hey, based on the look of The Tooth Fairy trailer, Dwayne Johnson will star in just about anything these days. Why not a reunion with his Get Smart director?
