Personal Effects For Pfeiffer & Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Pfeiffer have signed on to star in Personal Effects, a drama about a young man trying to come to terms with his sister’s death.

Kutcher plays Andrew Wakefield, the young man in question, who gets hired as a wedding-planner soon after his sister is killed just before her wedding. As follows the Rick Moody story, Mansion On The Hill, upon which the film is based, he begins to flash back through his memories of her, he alternates that with clunky product-speak descriptions of his job.

No word yet on who Pfeiffer will play, but we’re guessing that she’ll play big sis in flashbacks, which might go some way to rendering the 20 year gap between her and Kutcher somewhat realistic.

Shooting starts in Vancouver on November 26, by which time we’re hoping the writers’ strike will be a distant memory and – no offence to Pfeiffer and Kutcher - we can start writing about more exciting fare.
