Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief made a modest $226 million off the back of a $95 million outlay back in 2010, so perhaps it should come as no surprise that a sequel is in the works, and what's more, a trailer for it has landed. Marvel, then, at Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters' very first teaser.

Perhaps the most notable differences are cast-related. Due to a combination of plotting and a smaller budget, several of your favourite acting heavyweights are out of the picture, including Uma Thurman, Steve Coogan and Pierce Brosnan. In fact, Brosnan's character, the centaur called Chiron, has been replaced by Anthony Head, leaving Stanley Tucci and Nathan Fillion - who's obviously having a great time - to do most of the heavy lifting.

The three main leads, however, all remain, with Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson and Alexandra Daddario all along for the ride - a ride that involves saving the world, the Bermuda Triangle and a certain Golden Fleece. Also expect flying cars - hello again, Harry Potter - the undead and killer sharky-type things.

To give yourself a better handle of what to expect, as well as a taste of how Christopher Columbus-replacing director Thor Freudenthal has changed the original source material, be sure to have a read up on our Who, What, When, Where, Why summary feature here...

The Sea Of Monsters crashes onto UK shores on August 14.
