While there has been some movement on the male acting front with regards to Mission: Impossible 4 (or Mission: Impossible And The Deathly Hallows, or whatever Paramount decides to call the sequel/reboot), there was also some chatter last week about actresses such as Lauren German and Paula Patton testing for the female lead. Now Patton has landed the part.

There aren’t that many details about the role yet, though according to Deadline, Patton will be playing a young operative who works as part of Ethan Hunt (Cruise)’s M team.

Looks like Patton, last seen in **Just Wright **and Precious, will be working alongside Jeremy Renner, who now appears to be a lock as a fellow younger agent (and the man everyone thinks Paramount is grooming to take over from Cruise in some future instalment). And there’s also Ving Rhames’ Luther and Simon Pegg’s Benji aboard.

Brad Bird is getting set to direct the film later this year, working from a script by Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec. It’s anyone’s guess as to what the film will finally be titled. Start casting your votes now.
