Paula Patton got plenty of experience dealing with weapons and action scenes in Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol. So she’ll be in good stead if she lands one of the lead roles alongside Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg in 2 Guns, which she's in talks for now.

With a plot drawn from Steven Grant’s graphic novel, the film finds a DEA agent and an undercover intelligence agent unwittingly investigating each other as both deal with a hefty mob money situation.

Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur, who most recently worked on Contraband with Wahlberg, is calling the shots for this one, which Universal is backing.

There are few details on Patton’s potential character, but according to Deadline, she’ll be Washington’s love interest. Anyone else got a case of Deja Vu? Ahaha. As well as the Mission movie, Patton was seen last year in romantic comedy drama Jumping The Broom. She has indie ‘net drama Disconnect currently chugging its way through post-production.

Kormákur doesn’t yet have a date to start shooting yet, but we’d expect it to gear up shortly. The director will be working from a script by Law & Order veteran Blake Masters.
