Han Solo has always been a little morally grey in the pantheon of Star Wars heroes — but he's positively green compared to some of the nefarious characters hiding in the shadows. We’re set to meet a whole new gallery of shady tricksters and gangsters in Solo: A Star Wars Story, which reveals how the young Han became the cocky, Greedo-shooting smuggler we know and love.
It wouldn’t be wise to totally trust any character Han meets in the upcoming adventure, but the one to certainly keep an eye on is Dryden Vos — a slick and scary gangster played by Paul Bettany. The character has been hidden away from much of the promo material for the film, but we’ve got a brand new look at him right here, as seen in the forthcoming issue of Empire.
Vos is being touted as Solo’s main villain, a facially-scarred “big-shot” criminal overlord who recruits a crew of reprobates for a heist. The character was originally portrayed by Michael K. Williams back when Phil Lord and Chris Miller were directing, but is now portrayed by Bettany in Ron Howard’s film.
