With the third Conjuring spin-off based around creepy doll Annabelle taking place in the home of paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) Warren, we've been wondering whether duo who helped kick off the successful cinematic universe might show up for the new, as-yet-untitled effort. Now, thanks to Deadline's report, we know that Wilson and Farmiga are aboard.
With regular writer Gary Dauberman directing this one as well as writing it, the story this time will find the Warrens making the somewhat foolhardy decision to store the doll in their Artifacts Room. Figuring this will keep her safely away from anyone, their ideas as thwarted when she starts awakening other evil objects in the room and targets the Warrens' daughter, Judy (Mckenna Grace). The girl, along with her teenage cousin/babysitter (Madison Iseman), must face down the tricky toy.
Unlike their starring roles in the Conjuring movies, Wilson and Farmiga here will mostly be supporting characters, presumably gone when work takes them out of town at just the wrong moment. The cameras will be cranking on the film this week, and the new Annabelle will be ready to unnerve UK cinemagoers on 5 July next year.
