Things are changing behind the scenes of the developing horror Western Bone Tomahawk. While Kurt Russell remains in the lead, Patrick Wilson and Matthew Fox are on board to fill out the cast.

The new actors replace Timothy Olyphant and Peter Sarsgaard, who had been set to star previously. Meanwhile the rights to the film are once more up for grabs.

S. Craig Zahler wrote the script and will direct the film, which sees four men trying to rescue captives from a band of cannibalistic troglodytes who live on the fringes of civilization.

Wilson is set to play Arthur O’Dwyer, an ambitious cowboy whose rise to the rank of foreman on a cattle-driving team is shattered by an accident. Fox will be John Brooder, a smooth sharp-shooter who headed to the frontier because the ability to put bullets in people lets him channel his darker impulses.

They join Russell, Richard Jenkins and, assuming she’s still involved, Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter in the film, which should be shooting as soon as the details are worked out.
