Looks like director Elizabeth Banks is intending to shake up the Charlie's Angels format in more ways than one. Because, while we've had different Bosleys across films before, her new movie will feature two (at least) in one story. In addition to Banks herself, Patrick Stewart has been hired to play the character.

Bosley, of course, is the person who helps connect the Angels – to be played here by Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska – with mysterious, speakerphone using boss and patron Charlie.Jay Basu and Banks worked together on the most recent draft of the script, which will see a new generation of Angels working for the Townsend Agency, which has become a global security enterprise providing protection and intelligence services for a variety of private clients. That points to perhaps Banks' Bosley working in another office, or a Spinal Tap-esque plan to burn through Bosleys.

Kristen Stewart has said that the new movie “is still gonna be fun and Charlie’s Angels-y, but will also be current and modern. It’s kind of like a woke' version."

Banks is aiming to have the film in cinemas on 27 September next year. As for Stewart (Patrick), he's playing Merlin in Joe Cornish's The Kid Who Would Be King, out on 15 February. And he's also on to reprise one of his most iconic roles, that of Star Trek: The Next Generation's Captain Jean-Luc Picard, in a new TV series.
