Rob Minkoff, usually to be found directing big studio fare like Stuart Little, The Haunted Mansion and, to a lesser extent, The Forbidden Kingdom, has decided to dip his megaphone into indie waters, signing up to make Flypaper.
Foresight Unlimited is the company behind the movie, which will find Patrick Dempsey starring in the story of a bank that has the misfortune to attract two different sets of bank robbers at the same time.
But there’s an added wrinkle – both squads of crooks are then attacked by Dempsey’s character, who is trying to save the bank teller he loves.
There’s no word on who will play the object of his affection, but Minkoff will need to lock an actress in before June 7, when he’ll start shooting in Louisiana.
