From Paris With Love Trailer Online

Around the time of Mission: Impossible 3, Jonathan Rhys Meyers was telling all who'd listen that he was sick of dramatic roles and was after a bit of action. He promptly went back to TV and played Henry VIII, but it looks now as if he's finally got his wish. Check out the trailer here for **From Paris With Love{ =nofollow}, Pierre Morel's follow-up to Taken, in which Meyers co-stars with a scenery-chewing, shaven-headed John Travolta.

The title's obviously a nod to James Bond, but the trailer has more in the way of Training Day about it. Meyers is an embassy worker and Travolta a spy, and the result of their odd-couple pairing is, we're guessing, the destruction of large chunks of Paris.

Like Taken (and the Transporter films, and the Taxi films, and the District 13 films), From Paris With Love is a Europacorp production co-written and produced by Luc Besson. Fingers crossed that, also like Taken, its action scenes will be satisfyingly crunchy, and that unlike Taken, its politics won't make us wince.

It should be out early next year. Morel's next project is Pursuit.
