The other day we had Daniel Stamm and Eli Roth in the office talking about found footage movies, and now Paranormal Activity writer/director Oren Peli, and its sequel writer Michael R. Perry, are planning a TV show using found footage to tell another scary / supernatural tale, in The River.

It's to be set along the Amazon, and will concern someone who's gone missing - of course. But they've left footage behind, and it's that that will form the show. We're guessing there's actually more than one person involved, to keep the pace of a TV show up, but only time will tell. And it'll be spoooooooky.

DreamWorks TV is close to a deal to make this with ABC, so with a bit of luck we'll see it sometime next year. Looks like found footage isn't just for horror movies anymore, eh?
