If you were anticipating the return of giant robot action next summer, Paramount has swung its mighty hope-dasher. Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts is no longer scheduled for June 2022 and has instead been punted back to June 2023.

Specifically, the Steven Caple Jr.-directed movie, the latest outing for the Transformers franchise will now arrive on 9 June 2023. And, because the studio's untitled (and still extremely hidden behind a cloaking device) new Star Trek film had been firing its thrusters at station keeping on that date, it in turn will hit warp speed and headed to December 22 2023. That would seem to be a risky move, since it's home to Patty Jenkins' Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. However, given that movie's recent production delay, Star Trek could be on safer ground.

In related release date news, Disney used an investor call to announce that several Disney+ shows and movies would now arrive at some point in the summer next year. Among them? Robert Zemeckis' Tom Hanks-starring Pinocchio, Ms Marvel from, well, you can guess, and Star Wars: Andor. No specific dates were offered, but the company's "fourth quarter" talk means between July and September. Let's see if the company reveals more on its Disney+ Day this coming Friday.
