Paramount is getting into the swinging singles scene, picking up spec script Swingles, written by Duncan Birmingham.

The plot sees a bachelor let down by his wingman, who recruits a sour-tongued woman he hates to help him meet singles. Birmingham told The Hollywood Reporter: “I wanted to write a hip romantic comedy about swingers who are anything but romantic. I wanted to write a film I would go see, and I hate romantic comedies.”

Birmingham got his start writing for the US Queer As Folk show. There’s no director or cast attached yet.
