Paltrow Sr Dies

Bruce Paltrow – father of the super stellar Gwyneth – has died suddenly at the early age of 58. A powerful producer and director in his own right, Gwyneth’s dad began his career in theatre in the late 1960s and went on to produce the classic 80’s American TV series St Elsewhere and direct his daughter in 2000’s kareoke comedy Duets. Married to actress Blythe Danner for over twenty years, Paltrow had been suffering from throat cancer but had travelled to Italy to celebrate his daughter’s 30th birthday only a few days ago on September 27. He is believed to have suffered a heart attack and died at a Rome hospital before dawn on Wednesday.
