He’s currently best known as loathsome prison guard George “Pornstache” Mendez on Orange Is The New Black, but his next big film role will see him tackle a very different character. He’s now set to appear in Michael Bay’s new thriller **13 Hours.
Chuck Hogan, who co-wrote The Strain trilogy with Guillermo del Toro and worked on the TV adaptation, is responsible for the script, which is sourced from Mitchell Zuckoff’s book 13 Hours: The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi. The focus will be on six members of a security team who fought to defend the US State Department Special Mission Compound when terrorists attacked the place. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and one of the compound’s workers died in the initial assault and two contractors were killed during another attack on a nearby CIA facility.
John Krasinski is officially on board to star in the film, with Schreiber signing up to play one of the members of the security team. He’s most recently worked on a new HBO comedy series, The Brink alongside Jack Black and Tim Robbins, which should be on the air this year.
