When your film is being co-produced by Wes Anderson and Noah Baumbach, you know the word quirky is unlikely to be far behind. So it goes with Peter Bogdanovich’s new comedy Squirrel To The Nuts, which will star Owen Wilson, Brie Larson and Olivia Wilde.

Frankly, the title alone would be enough for the q-word to strike, but Bogdanovich’s latest, based on his script, finds a prostitute-turned-Broadway-actor (Larson) seeing her two professional worlds collide.

Wilson will be a big-name Broadway director who regularly hires Larson for both of her skillsets, despite the fact that he’s married to the star of the play. Wilde, meanwhile, will be a therapist whose own mother is in rehab.

According to Variety, the producers are trying to get Jason Schwartzman to sign on, but he’s still playing it coy.

There’s no solid financing in place yet, but Bogdanovich is targeting an autumn shoot and with the talent already involved, we doubt it’ll be long before he’s rounded up the cash he needs.

Wilson is working on Mad Man creator Matthew Weiner’s film** You Are Here** and then plans to reunite with his Wedding Crashers cohort Vince Vaughn for The Internship. Larson, who most recently appeared in 21 Jump Street, will next work (alongside Wilde) on comedy Relanxious. Wilde has a hefty schedule of movies due out in the coming months, including People Like Us, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Ron Howard’s Rush.
