The plan to remake 1987 Goldie Hawn-starring comedy Overboard has been bobbing about in the development oceans for years now. Names such as Jennifer Lopez and Kathrine Heigl were floated at various points, but the film finally went ahead earlier this year with Anna Faris on deck. And now the trailer has just docked.

Garry Marshall's original found Hawn as a selfish, impatient heiress who fell off her yacht, suffered amnesia and was rescued by a carpenter (Kurt Russell), with whom she fell in love.

The twist this time has been to switch the genders of the main characters. Here it's Eugenio Derbez who falls from his swanky boat and meets Faris' single, working-class mother, who convinces him that he's her husband.

Rob Greenberg and Bob Fisher shared the writing and directing duties, and the new Overboard washes up next April.
