Ex Machina did good things for Oscar Isaac's career back in 2014, so you can understand why he might be attracted to something with that title, even if it'll change on its route to the screen. Isaac is now attached to star in and produce an adaptation of Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris' comic book, which will be known as The Great Machine in movie form.
The comicbook story of Ex Machina follows Mitchell Hundred, a former superhero who switches careers to become mayor of New York following 9/11. Though he has the nifty power to talk to mechanical devices, the plot was more concerned with political machinations than powers. Debuting in 2004, the comic ran for 50 issues.
Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel, who most recently wrote Seberg, are on board to script the adaptation for Legendary. Isaac is on screen now in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, and he'll be seen later this year in Dune.
