The** Star Wars: Episode VII **casting rumour Star Destroyer keeps on flying through that galaxy far, far away, with J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm and Disney showing no sign of making announcements just yet. But with Star Wars Day (AKA May the fourth) just a few short days away, anticipation is building for actual news. Deadline has a jump on any potential confirmation by throwing Inside Llewyn Davis' Oscar Isaac’s name into the contender pool.
Abrams’ hand may be forced by word that there is a big table read planned in London this week, which would see all the cast gathered and make keeping things a secret that much more difficult. Deadline heard that Isaac is being lined up for a major role, with the already-rumoured Adam Driver and John Boyega and a potential new recruit in the shape of Maisie Richardson-Sellers, a British actress and Oxford graduation who appears only to have one short film to her name to date.
Of course, there are the original trilogy cast members Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, who have been linked with the new film for ages and are all in London. The latest rumour has it that Ford has a much bigger role in the movie that originally thought. Of course, all this is still subject to the Star Wars** Rumour Alert klaxon for now, but we get to retire the ol’ noisemaker soon.
Abrams is at work on the film, based on a script originated by Michael Arndt and re-written by the director and Lawrence Kasdan. Episode VII docks with our cinemas on December 18, 2015.
