Given how many people are now in the cast for Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, we can only imagine the catering budget. And we're fairly certain that all of New Mexico's available trailers are all in one place by now. Yet the director isn't finished adding to the film, as Jason Clarke and Louise Lombard are the latest recruits.

The Tenet director's latest finds him adapting the book American Prometheus: The Triumph And Tragedy Of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. It'll chart how Oppenheimer played a key role in the creation of atomic weapons, yet later came to have complicated feelings about their deadly power. He lobbied for international control of nuclear power and opposed the creation of the even more destructive hydrogen bomb.

Cillian Murphy is playing Oppenheimer, while Emily Blunt will be his wife, Katherine. The cast also includes Florence Pugh, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Matthew Modine, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Josh Hartnett, Michael Angarano, Alden Ehrenreich, Scott Grimes, Dylan Arnold, David Krumholtz, Christopher Denham,

Olli Haaskivi and Benny Safdie. There is no indication yet which roles Clarke and Lombard are taking.

With Universal handling this one, Oppenheimer is headed to screens on 21 July next year.
