Olympus Has Fallen Trailer Lands

This year’s clash of high concepts focuses on the White House. Specifically, people invading the White House and the righteous Secret Service agent(s) who must work to save everyone inside. Roland Emmerich has White House Dow****n on the way, but **Training Day’**s Antoine Fuqua and his film, Olympus Has Fallen, have pipped him to the post. Check out the trailer over at Apple.

Olympus finds Gerard Butler as Mike Banning, a stalwart Secret Service officer with Serious Issues. See, Mike was the commander of the President (Aaron Eckhart)’s detail a few years ago, but a tragic car accident saw the First Lady (Ashley Judd) die on his watch.

Now disgraced and downgraded to a desk job, Mike is flung back into the middle of the action when terrorists led by Rick Yune's Kang take over the White House and take everyone, including the Commander In Chief, hostage.

With Speaker Of The House Trumball (Morgan Freeman) as acting president, the clock is ticking and only Mike can save the day. But can the Prez forgive his history?

From the looks of this trailer, we can expect lots of OTT proclamations (“We just opened the gates of hell,” Freeman growls at one point), punching, explosions and bullet swapping. With a name like Olympus Has Fallen, would you expect anything else?

Olympus will fall into cinemas on April 19.
