DreamWorks – and, by extension, writer/producer Alex Kurtzman – are looking to keep working with** Cowboys and Aliens** star Olivia Wilde, signing her up for one of the main roles in family drama Welcome to People.

Kurtzman is making the jump to the director’s chair for the film, which he wrote alongside regular partner in crime Roberto Orci and newcomer scriptwriter Jody Lambert.

People follows Chris Pine as a businessman who reluctantly returns home when his estranged father dies and discovers that his family is a little bigger than he thought: he’s also go an alcoholic sister (Elizabeth Banks) and a 12-year-old nephew.

Wilde, meanwhile, will be Hannah, the leading man’s girlfriend who will likely clash with his new sibling.

The actress is currently on screen in Tron Legacy and has The Next Three Days (which also stars Banks) about to open over here. This year will bring Cowboys, small-town comedy Butter, body-swap laugh-grabber The Change-Up and Andrew Niccol’s latest slice of sci-fi, Now.
