The terrestrial airing of Martin Scorsese's 1988 film The Last Temptation of Christ on British television has topped the list of the most-complained about programmes of the decade. The Independent Television Commission, which published the list today put the film with its infamous hallucination scene featuring Jesus making love to Mary Magdelene right at the top of the pile with just over 1500 complaints. Scorsese's film easily beat its nearest competitor Brass Eye's paedophilia special which earned a mere 992 calls from Offended of Oxford. But interestingly most of the complaints about The Last Temptation came before the film was shown with only 10% of calls coming once people had actually watched the movie.
