Even if you've won an Oscar for your script and made a well-liked directorial debut in the past, it can take a while to get your latest project moving. The Way Way Back writer/directors Jim Rash and Nat Faxon have finally wrangled the cast and funding they need for their latest, The Heart, and Octavia Spencer's joining Sam Rockwell and Allison Janney in the ensemble.

The Heart follows Joe (Rockwell) and Lucy (Spencer) who, while desperate for cash, take the job of delivering a human heart from New York to Florida in 24 hours. When they realize that their delivery is destined for a black-market buyer who illegally skipped the donor list, they attempt to reroute it to its rightful recipient, but they are soon hunted down by multiple insane criminals – including the greedy millionaire buyer, his scorned brother, and Lucy’s own drug-dealing ex-boss (Janney).

The original version – which we reported on back in 2014 – had Kristen Wiig as Lucy, but things have changed and the movie is now not only a Way Way Back reunion for the directors, Rockwell and Janney but also a Help repeat for Janney and Spencer.

This one should finally be shooting at the end of the year, but given that the original announcement said May 2014 for the cameras to roll, you'll forgive us if we don't hold our breaths just yet.
