Despite deep pockets and a healthy roster of talent making its shows, Apple's new Apple TV+ service doesn't exactly have a huge back catalogue, so for now it is hitching its wagon to those names it has producing new content. One of them is crime tale Truth Be Told, which features Octavia Spencer and Aaron Paul. Check out the trailer.

Spencer plays disgraced journalist Poppy Parnell, who returns to her hometown and revisits a case in which she played a pivotal role in her early career. Paul is convict Warren Cave, who Poppy helped put behind bars — but he could potentially be innocent of the crime... With a true-crime podcast as her new outlet, Poppy digs into a murky family history swimming with secrets.

Created and written by Nichelle Tramble Spellman, based on Kathleen Barber's novel Are You Sleeping, the series boasts Reese Witherspoon behind the scenes as an executive producer alongside Spencer. Lizzy Caplan, Elizabeth Perkins and Mekhi Pfifer are also in the cast, and Truth Be Told will hit the Apple streaming service on 6 December.
