Since breaking into Hollywood following her starring role in the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy. Noomi Rapace hasn't always had the best luck at the box office, with movies such as Child 44 and Rupture underperforming. She's still plugging away with drama an action thrillers and will star in a new movie called Close.
Loosely based on the life of the world's top female bodyguard, the film will find Rapace as Sam, an expert in counter-terrorism who is assigned to guard a rich teenage heiress. But what she thinks will be a dull babysitting job becomes much more dangerous when there's a violent attempted kidnapping and the two have to go on the run. They'll have to take some lives in the process... or face losing theirs.
Vicky Jewson is in the director's chair, preparing to shoot next month using the script she co-wrote with Rupert Whitaker and the rights for the movie will be – not surprising given the time of year – up for sale in Cannes.
Rapace is on screens now in Unlocked and will next be seen in David Ayer's Bright, due to arrive via Netflix this December.
