With shooting set to start this month in New Orleans, director Gavin Hood is assembling more of the cast for sci-fi adaptation Ender’s Game. And his latest recruit in Nonso Anozie.
Game, taken from Orson Scott Card’s epic series, finds Hugo’s Asa Butterfield as Ender Wiggins, a prodigy who is recruited by Earth’s International Fleet to train as a military specialist. He shows a true genius for strategy and is lined up to help mankind fight off insectoid alien invaders.
Anozie has signed on to play Sergeant Dap, who oversees students in Ender’s section. He’s joining a cast that already includes Butterfield, Abigail Breslin, Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Hailee Steinfeld and Ben Kingsley. And he’s not the only new arrival: Stevie Ray Dallimore and Andrea Powell have been cast as Ender’s mother and father, John and Teresa.
Anozie was last seen battling hungry wolves alongside Liam Neeson in The Grey, and before that he was part of the Conan cast. He’ll next be seen in Game Of Thrones, so Ender’s Game should be a nicely SF-flavoured break from battling beasts and swinging swords…
** Ender's Game** is set to launch here on March 29, 2013.
