Though there has been much chatter about Quentin Tarantino's involvement with a future Star Trek film, his is still in space dock. But Paramount is looking to kick the franchise back into warp speed, and has Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley ready to write and direct the next movie.

Deadline dug up that Hawley's in final talks, with no real further detail, though the main current crew, as portrayed by Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are all expected to return to duty, and JJ Abrams will once again produce.

This won't be Hawley's first trip to space, and he made his directorial debut this year with astronaut drama Lucy In The Sky (due to touch down in the UK on 6 December). The new Trek movie will follow 2016's Star Trek Beyond, though we're sure whatever Hawley has up his sleeve will be intriguing. First, however, he'll finish up the fourth season of Fargo, which is set to hit screens next year.
